Inspiring the Next Generation of American Leaders
VFW Post 4190 is proud to support and invest in the next generation through nationally recognized youth programs that promote patriotism, citizenship, leadership, and community service. Each year, students throughout our area are encouraged to participate in the Veterans of Foreign Wars scholarship and recognition programs, providing opportunities to share their ideas, develop leadership skills, and earn scholarships.
For the 2026–2027 program year, the Patriot's Pen and Voice of Democracy theme is:
"What a Veteran Taught Me About America"
This theme challenges students to reflect on the values of freedom, sacrifice, service, and citizenship through the lessons and experiences shared by our nation's veterans.
Scholarships are awarded at the Post, District, State, and National levels, providing students multiple opportunities to earn recognition and scholarship awards for their achievements.
