On Saturday, December 13, VFW Post 4190 proudly hosted the annual Wreaths Across America ceremony at Roselawn Cemetery in Decatur, Alabama. Veterans, families, and volunteers gathered to honor those who served by placing wreaths in remembrance, ensuring each hero is recognized during the holiday season. This meaningful tribute was made possible through a true community effort, with support from local JROTC, American Legion Post 15, the Marine Corps League, the Wreaths Across America Foundation, and many other organizations and neighbors who stepped up to help.
Roselawn Cemetery has served Decatur families for generations and is the final resting place for thousands of veterans representing multiple eras of service. Among its grounds are service members from different branches and backgrounds—each with a story of duty and sacrifice that deserves to be remembered. For Post 4190, this ceremony is more than a tradition; it is a promise to our community that our veterans will never be forgotten.
Special thanks to Ms. Donna Howell and Sandy Godbout for coordinating this year’s event and helping bring everyone together to make it a success.
